About Us

With the finding of the importance of containers for food storage by German developer Nicholas Appert, British vendor Peter Durand patented the tin canning procedure in 1810. After acquiring the patent, Durand did not herself followup with canning food. His patent was sold by him in 1812 to 2 different Englishmen, Bryan Donkin and John Area, who create the world's first commercial canning factory on Southwark Park Road and polished merchandise and the process. By 1813, these produced the first canned items for your Royal Navy.
